'Pause Between Songs' - by Urban Sandström, Umeå, Sweden. version 2.2, february 2000. QUICK INSTALL ------------- The PIMP installer should copy gen_paus.dll into your plugins directory for you. Your job is to go to Winamp's PREFERENCES menu (CTRL+P), and on the left under 'plug-ins' select 'general purpose'. Then, on the right side, select 'Pause Between Songs' and click 'Configure' to set it up. WHAT IS 'Pause Between Songs'? ------------------------------ 'Pause Between Songs' is a small utility that tries to make a pause between each song in the playlist. WHY 'Pause Between Songs'? ------------------------------ Why? someone wonders. Well, it started with a need for ear rest. Since I ran my play lists all day long, it started to weary my ears (and brain). So my idea was that maybe a little rest between the songs would be nice. And after a while i realised that it would be even nicer if the pause was irregular. That's the reason behind the 'random'-feature. After a while a few people said they needed it when they downloaded music to their MiniDisc-players. Since the MiniDisk players need a few seconds of silence in order to detect a song change, this plug-in is very handy. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ------------------- 1. Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT. (It is only tested on Win95/98, but should work on NT as well.) 2. Winamp 2.x. with Output='Nullsoft waveOut plug-in' (Don't use directSound plug-in) USER'S GUIDE ------------ "Randomize between Min and Max" When this checkbox is cleared, 'Max' is disabled. 'Min' then means: 'always make a pause of specified length'. When checkbox is checked, 'Pause Between Songs' randomizes the pause length between the songs. The Min and Max value then defines the bounderies of the possible pause lengths. "Min (s)" (Minimum) length of inter-song pause, specified in seconds. "Max (s)" Maximum length of inter-song pause, specified in seconds. "Show Tray Icon" When this is checked a System tray icon appears when configuration window is closed. The tray icon is a shortcut to quickly open the 'Pause Between Songs' configuration window. You simply click on the tray icon, and the configuration windows appears. "Enable Pause Between Songs" Clear this check box if you want to disable the pause plugin. TROUBLESHOOTING / FAQ --------------------- Question: "Sometimes it skips the pause and goes right on to next song. Or even worse, it skips the next song!"
